Ingredients:
- 6 thick slices of bread
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, or more as needed
- 2 large eggs
- ⅔ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt for flavour
- Fresh strawberries
- Fresh blueberries
- Icing sugar
Instructions:
- Whisk the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt together in a shallow bowl.
- Lightly butter, oil or spray a pan and heat the pan over medium to high heat.
- Dunk the bread slices in the egg mixture, soaking both sides.
- Place the bread slices in the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- Once the French toast is cooked and golden brown, place it on a plate.
- Drizzle golden syrup over the French toast and add fresh strawberries and blueberries.
- You can opt for the fresh fruit of your choice.
- Sprinkle the French toast with icing sugar.
