Ingredients:

 

  • 6 thick slices of bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, or more as needed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt for flavour
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Icing sugar

 

Instructions:

 

  • Whisk the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt together in a shallow bowl.
  • Lightly butter, oil or spray a pan and heat the pan over medium to high heat.
  • Dunk the bread slices in the egg mixture, soaking both sides.
  • Place the bread slices in the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  • Once the French toast is cooked and golden brown, place it on a plate.
  • Drizzle golden syrup over the French toast and add fresh strawberries and blueberries.
  • You can opt for the fresh fruit of your choice.
  • Sprinkle the French toast with icing sugar.
  • Serve hot.
